The Grand Tour – John’s journey through the U.S. in 2022

In the December report, I mentioned that partnership development is an important aspect of our work. The “Tour” across America that I mentioned above is my way of personally being involved in that respect through networking (connecting and reconnecting) with existing and potential partners in ministry. As I mentioned in my personal report, this “Tour” has already started with my current trip to Florida.

Team visit to the Basque Country and Catalunya

Despite a busy September with all of the house moving activities, Andy, Cam and I made a quick trip to the Basque Country and also Catalunya. Given that Daniel, Martu and Iker were leaving at the end of September and I had to be out of the house on the 15th, we made a window to make the journey down to those autonomous areas in what would most commonly be understood as Spain (a problematic understanding for many of the people with whom we serve, who are Basque and Catalan speakers, but perhaps a necessary one for you, the readers).

Changes to Summer 2021 Projects

Come to Wales and bring the language and people alive for others.

As you know, we have been cautiously planning to move forward with having on-field summer projects for students this year here in Wales as well as in several other European countries. Our mission in the middle of the pandemic

Once again, as long as COVID-19 continues to affect us, I will continue to update you all as to how our ministry is affected by the virus. Give thanks and pray for new homes and coworkers

We have some positive developments, but also prayer requests related to a couple of new personnel to serve with us on the Team, currently in Wales. Thank you for praying for their transitions and settling. I would also ask you, please, to pray for all of us here during January as we are praying, evaluating, and seeking God’s direction and will for the work and focus of Linguæ Christi for the rest of 2021.

Director’s Update — December 2020

For many years, I have the habit of calling my 90-year-old mother in Tennessee every Sunday. It’s always a good time to catch up. However, during the Pandemic, when each week is strikingly similar to the one before it, we have often come to a point of silence, where we both say, “well, that’s all I’ve got as news, as it’s pretty much what I shared last week.” Writing for our blog in this Pandemic has been a challenge in terms of finding a lot new to say. Because everything is a bit harder and takes more time, much of our activity is continuing to work on things, until we bring them to a successful (hopefully) conclusion.  So, as we approach the end of 2020, we are happy that we have seen the conclusion of some of the projects we’ve been working on over these months, and ongoing progress with others. The following are a few points for this month’s update.
